40/40: Summer Poem Slam-a-bam! – Day 15 – “Fugue State”

“Fugue State”

It’s not even a debate,

We now live in a fugue state.

Wandering a landscape of lies,

Forgotten self, Lifeboat capsized.

Up is down, and down is up.

Drink hate flowing from a cup.

Each values opinion over fact,

Some folks believe the earth is flat.

Despite strong evidence,

Knowledge is lacking relevance.

Much ignorance exists.

Certainly, not a state of bliss.

Rolling blind towards an ill fate,

Wrapped up in a fugue state.

A very special no thanks, to the evil that men do. Although there is darkness, I prefer to hope the shit out of life.

40/40: Summer Poem Slam-a-bam is a project in which people have joined me for 40 days and 40 nights of on-demand poetry. They have submitted the concepts, ideas, and subjects; I’ve done the rest.
