“I Don’t Want To Be An Obituary”

Defined succinctly,
Without soul.
Some brevity,
Levity,
No chance for parole.
Death unencumbered,
The last liberty.
Periodical announcement,
Ten lines for a fee.
Surly summation,
Posthumously.
Made for the living,
The deceased are carefree.
Despite that truism,
Ultimately,
I’d rather be living;
Than an obituary.
