The third day of Christmas is a mix of relief and some post big-day blues. The relief comes from having pulled off another great celebration, but the post big-day blues arrive as most media outlets that had been playing Christmas music for the last month stop cold Turkey.
I for one would prefer a Christmas music ween; where the music gets played throughout January 6 (The Twelfth Day of Christmas).
It’s hard to have so much jolliness end abruptly. I advocate for a more gradual shift back to the listening of non-holiday music.
In the meantime, I can still find my Christmas Carols on many of the music subscription services out there.
Welcome to my effort. Yes, as a great procrastinator, it requires great effort to stay focused on something productive that matters to me. I’ll find any old excuse to traipse from project to project, and I rarely end up at the place I started. I find this maddening, and exhaustive. So it is with high hopes, and a greater grasp of self-awareness, that I embark upon staying the course so to speak.
I enjoy writing. Be it blogs, fiction, poetry, etc. I love the craft and the act of creation, the art in and of itself, for it’s own sake and end. I am happy to be able to do it.
